ABOUT ME
“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think”
Albert Einstein
My name is Brian King. I am a passionate 6th, 7th and 8th grade science teacher and edutainer at Incarnate Word Parish School. I am dedicated to the use of technology to improve how students learn and to address the needs of individuals. My goal is to guide students how to think and learn on their own by daily use of critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity. I manage to do this while keeping the mood light with humorous stories and and flare of entertainment. I believe students are most receptive to learning when they are having fun. I have a soft spot for teaching middle school because I believe there are not three consecutive years I could impact the development of a child more than during middle school. Seeing light bulbs go off in students heads is what fuels me to improve every day.
Outside of school, I am married to an amazing lady and father of two wonderful children. My hobbies are anything techy, learning, sports, fishing, music and movies.
I look forward to many more years of teaching at Incarnate Word and striving daily to be a better teacher.
